I noticed the notice posted on the clubhouse this AM. Glad to see Rene and the Board are finally getting this project done. The clubhouse has been left unfinished for far too long. Good for them!!

Is the clubhouse really the most important use of limited funds? I mean how often does it really get used. Once or twice a month? It seems there are a LOT of other things that are more pressing but I suppose that's why we have a board, to decide such priorities.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why the sidewalk repairs that were done a few weeks back not salted?

Not only does it not match the other concrete but when those slabs of new concrete get wet they will be very slippery. The one above the stairs by the mailboxes makes me very nervous when it rains.

Was there a reason for this?

Sir, I don't know where you've been, but Rene Fernandez has been officially off the Board since June. I heard that he resigned after throwing a temper tantrum over how the meetings were being conducted.

In other words, the guy with all the answers to Parkridge's problems didn't even last two years. He drained the reserves, failed to get anywhere on the plumbing issue, and so on, and so on, and so, on.

The only thing he accomplished was alienating himself and his few followers from the Parkridge community with his unholy emphasis on keeping garage doors closed, keeping towels off of gates, stalking the female residents of our community around the pool, and other capital crimes.

Now the ball's in the community's court to keep this guy off the board come the April election. Hopefully, some real candidates will appear.

The clubhouse is the most important building in the complex. It must be, because, even though Rene Fernandez is off the board, he still has a key to it and seems to spend most of his spare time in there, according to a couple I know.

Seriously, the clubhouse, if I remember correctly, had a slab leak under it, and Rene and the boys decided to go nuts with the repair. I agree that they didn't put a lot of thought into it, but at least it seems close to completion.

As far as the concrete goes, I walked across several of the slabs near my place when it was pouring rain and it seemed to be OK. I'm all for stuff like that, but while they were doing it, I wondered why they didn't just special assess everybody a couple hundred dollars and do the whole bloody complex.

If that Rene jerk is really off the board of directors, why is he still allowed to follow people around and lurk in the corners of the complex. A couple of months ago, I had to take my kids out of the pool because he was coming in about every five minutes or so and staring at us as he walked by. My daughter actually asked "Mommy, what did we do. Did we do something wrong. Why is that man looking at us"

The last handful of comments will not be posted based in standards set some months back.

Any more comments on this thread should be about the topic and not who is or is not a creep. If you are tempted and can mix in your conjecture make sure to sign your name.

Our current leadership is volunteering their personal time on Sunday to paint and labor to save our general funds for work that requires more expertise.

Thank you, Howard

Thanks, Howard.

I figured you'd jump in at some point. I saw this getting out of control from the get-go, so I stayed out for a few days. Hopefully, you'll see fit to post this one.

I just thought I'd point out to the community that at this point, only 2 of the current board members have been on the Board since the election. The rest have been appointed by the remaining members.

I think things have been going fairly well, actually, since Rene resigned in shame. The tree trimming went pretty well a couple months after he got off, likewise with the concrete work. I halfway agree with the guy who mentioned having a special assessment to do the whole complex, but hey, you can't hit home runs all the time, so lets call that one a double.

I was very glad to see that "Statewide" outfit actually get a grip on our plumbing problem. One of the guys on the phone seemed to really have a great deal of experience with those stupid Moen shower valves and the problems they cause when they get old. (Relax, Rene and Kevin, the guy read the blog (which actually has some value) and figured I had some knowledge of the problem and looked me up in the phone book; Nancy did not refer him directly to me.)

The pressure reglulators and related valves have been replaced and I, frankly, can't wait for the next phase to begin. I don't know where Nancy dug them up, but kudos to her.

Now with Rene completely out of the picture, perhaps the Board can get away from this Burma-like atmosphere of repression and move on to bigger issues.

Once again, if you feel compelled grind on a personal issue make sure to sign your name. If you then mix in something of interest to Parkridge residents your comment will most likely be made public. Your blogger, Howard

HUGE thanks to the volunteers who painted the laundry room! I heard they were up and working at 6am Sunday! It looks fantastic, and I love the green accent around the windows. Best part is, it only cost the community the money for a couple gallons of paint. Good work!

How did the laundry room really get painted? Here is the story: The team came together when Kirsten asked Sally (current Board member) if the laundry room can be painted. Since our association is low on funds, Sally said it would have to be done by volunteers and Kirsten immediately said she would help. Another resident present at that time volunteered too. Sally brought it to the Board and the suggestion was well received and all members assisted in the event. Thus, Sally created the "ParkRidge Community Volunteer Team". Please review the posted pictures (thanks Howard) and meet the team who made it happen: Lee and her husband Jimmy, Kim, Kelly, Sally, Deanne, John, and Josh were present and Kevin helped behind the scenes. There is still a couple of things to be completed in the laundry room and must be reviewed by the Board. But thanks to volunteers, the painting part only cost the HOA $173.10 for paint and supplies, thus far.

How can you be a part of the “ParkRidge Community Volunteer Team” you might ask? Attend the meetings and advise the Board or contact our property manager, Nancy Martin, and she can get your information to the Board. Many hands make light work and saves lots of money too!

It needs to be clarified at this time that it is the current Board who is making things happen around here. Rene voluntarily quit the Board some months ago and has not had anything to do with what is currently happening. Sally was voted in, in August, and Kelly has agreed to rejoin effective this October. Therefore, the current Board consists of Lee, Kevin, Kim, Sally, and Kelly. Since August you have seen the start of the trees trimmed, the sidewalks repaired, sewer lines cleaned, water regulators installed on the boilers, minor repairs to a block wall, and slab leaks repaired.

Keep up the good work Board and thanks to ALL volunteers who help make our community a nice place to live.
