Restrictions on For Sale Signs?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Water Shut Off Monday March 19th":

Restrictions on For Sale signs

Isn't there a size restriction on For Sale signs out by the front gate? It looks tacky enough always having at least 3 or 4 of them out there, but then when these giant wood ones are popping up it looks really bad and it blocks drivers' view of southbound traffic on Associated.

It seems like having that many signs out front would hurt people who are trying to sell their units anyway. It looks like the whole neighborhood is for sale and a buyer can shop around and if they don't like your unit, they can just buy your neighbor's.

I think that you are correct about the size of the signs which we could find in the CC&R's. I don't believe the signs reflect poorly on the complex at all but the real estate market as a whole. Lets’ face it, Parkridge is entry level to the homeownership world and people who purchased over the last 3-5 years with zero down, option ARM, ARM or interest only loans can no longer re-fi to solve their financial problems or poor loan selection. You should probably prepare yourself to see many more signs accompanying those already posted and something similar at condo complexes near by.

The size of the signs should be limited but I think there is a bigger problem. I've noticed when there are Open Houses, a gate code is being posted for potential buyers to open the gate. Doesn't this create a security or safety issue. Anyone can get the code and come back into the complex whenever they choose. When I moved in, I was told that ALL residents must purchase a gate remote and that the gate codes had all been removed from the system because too many outsiders were given access to the complex. I think its happening again and would really like to see the gate code NOT be posted at the entrance for all to see.
I'm sure there's some justifiable reason for posting the code, but I'd rather not have strangers given the access code to use whenever they choose.

The gate code has also been posted on the MLS in the past for all brokers and their clients to see and use to access the community. Ironic that actual residents are not privy to the code, but everyone else seems to be.
